Inspired by composer Christopher Cerrone’s High Windows, a concerto grosso for string orchestra, this contemporary work explores the entanglement of opposites, the interplay of allusion and abstraction, and the metaphorical and physical opening of windows through space and time. Additionally, the dual meanings of enfilade, described as an architectural alignment of infinite vistas and a military flanking strategy, informed the juxtaposition of visceral and ethereal choreographic imagery. Created for an ensemble of nine dancers, layers of sculptural design and intimate gesture unfold in concert with the evocative score. The work was created for the UCI 2025 Dance Visions concert and premiered at the Irvine Barclay Theatre alongside the esteemed works of Tong Wang, Molly Lynch, Lar Lubovitch, and Cyrian Reed & S. Ama Wray.
